You’re emailing the person who poured the bait
Not a support desk. The same guy who mixed that colour, pulled it out of the mould and trimmed the flash off it by hand. That’s the good news and the bad news in one sentence.
The good news is you can ask something genuinely specific and get a real answer. What hook gap I’d run in a 3in craw. Whether a colour swims darker than it photographs. Whether the green pumpkin I poured this month has more flake in it than the batch you bought in April, which is a fair question and the answer is sometimes yes.
The bad news is that if it’s a Saturday in June, I’m on the water and you’ll hear from me Sunday night. Figure a day or two most of the time, longer through spring when everything is pouring at once.
If it’s about an order
Include your order number — it’s in your confirmation email. No order number is fine too; your name and the email you ordered under will find it.
Tell me what actually happened rather than what you think went wrong. “The mailer showed up split and one pack is missing” gets fixed a lot faster than “my order is wrong.”
If a parcel has gone quiet, check the tracking before you write. Canada Post scans can sit still for several days on anything crossing provinces, and longer to rural and northern addresses — that’s usually motion you can’t see rather than a lost package. Custom colours
Ask. This is a normal request here, not a favour.
The useful thing is to tell me the water, not just the colour. “Something darker for tannic water on a Shield lake” tells me more than a colour name does, because I can pick a base and a flake that still holds a silhouette at eight feet down. If you want a laminate with a specific belly for one particular lake, that’s exactly the kind of thing a one-person pour shop can actually do and a factory can’t.
Fair warning: small runs mean a custom colour usually means a full pour of it, so there’s a minimum. Ask and I’ll tell you what’s realistic.
Tackle shops and wholesale
If you run a shop, a lodge or a guide operation and want to carry these, get in touch. Tell me roughly what you move and which species your customers are chasing — a shop on walleye water needs a very different peg than one selling to smallmouth guys. I’d rather build the right box than send a sampler.
